Tomato powder is widely used in the food industry, including seasoning blends, instant soups, sauces, snack coatings, and ready-to-eat food products. With its concentrated tomato flavor and convenient powdered form, it can be easily blended with other ingredients and incorporated into different food formulations. Compared with fresh tomatoes, tomato powder is easier to store, transport, and handle, making it a practical ingredient for food manufacturers.

Fresh tomato, dried tomato slices, and finished tomato powder

At Yinda Machinery, we offer two grinding solutions for dried tomato processing: the YDWS Series Pin Mill Grinder and the YDWF Series Air Classifier Mill. Choosing the right tomato powder grinding machine depends on your raw material, required powder fineness, and target production capacity.

Raw Material Requirements

Proper preparation helps improve grinding efficiency and powder consistency.

Moisture Content: We recommend using a moisture content below 10% as an initial reference, depending on the material and required fineness.

Feed Size: Dried tomato pieces must meet the selected machine's feeding requirements.

Pre-crushing: For oversized pieces, we can evaluate our YDCS Series Coarse Crusher before fine grinding.

YDWS Series Pin Mill Grinder for 20–120 Mesh Tomato Powder

Yinda YDWS Series Pin Mill Grinder is suitable for dried tomato grinding, with a reference fineness range of 20–120 mesh. A typical system includes the main grinding unit, cyclone separator, pulse dust collector, centrifugal fan, and electrical control system.

How Does It Work?

Dried tomato enters the grinding chamber, where the high-speed relative movement of the grinding discs reduces the material through impact and shearing. The powder passes through the inner screen and is conveyed by airflow to the cyclone separator. Fine dust is collected by the pulse dust collector, helping reduce dust dispersion.

Main Features of the YDWS Series Pin Mill Grinder

Stainless Steel Construction: Designed with an all-stainless-steel structure to meet applicable GMP requirements for food and pharmaceutical processing.

Adjustable Fineness: The output fineness is determined by the inner screen, with a reference range of 20–120 mesh.

Cyclone Separation & Discharge: The tapered cyclone is equipped with an easy-to-disassemble rotary airlock valve and a pneumatic vibrator to support smooth powder discharge and help prevent blockage.

Pulse Dust Collection: The automatic pulse-jet cleaning system cleans the filter bags, helping reduce material loss and dust dispersion for a cleaner working environment.

Versatile Applications: In addition to dried tomatoes, the machine is suitable for grinding dry materials such as rice, sugar, salt, grains, spices, herbs, and leaves.

YDWF Series Air Classifier Mill for 80–320 Mesh Tomato Powder

For finer grinding applications, our YDWF Series Air Classifier Mill offers a reference fineness range of 80–320 mesh. Unlike the YDWS Series, it uses an integrated air classifier rather than a grinding screen to control particle size.

How Does It Work?

In our Tomato Powder Grinding Machine, dried tomato slices enter the grinding chamber through the feeding system, where high-speed rotating components grind the material.

The ground material then enters the classification area, where the rotating classifier wheel separates fine particles from coarse ones through the combined effects of airflow and centrifugal force. Fine powder that meets the required particle size is carried by airflow to the cyclone separator, while coarser particles return to the grinding chamber for further grinding. The classifier wheel speed can be adjusted to help control the final powder fineness.

Main Features of YDWF Series Air Classifier Mill

· Fine and Ultrafine Grinding: Suitable for producing fine tomato powder, with a reference fineness range of 80–320 mesh.

· Screenless Particle-Size Control: The classifier wheel speed can be adjusted to help control the final powder fineness without using a grinding screen.

· Uniform Powder Quality: The integrated air classification system helps improve particle-size consistency for a more uniform final product.

· Flexible Control Options: Standard button control is available, with PLC control offered as an option depending on the configuration.

· Wide Applications: In addition to dried tomatoes, the machine can process suitable dry materials such as herbs, spices, leaves, grains, sugar, salt, nutritional powders, and selected health supplement ingredients.

Frequently Asked Questions About Tomato Powder Grinding Machines

1. What Information Is Needed to Select a Tomato Powder Grinding Machine?

We need to know your raw material, feed size, required powder fineness, target production capacity, and preferred equipment material, such as SS304 or SS316 stainless steel. These details help us recommend a suitable machine and configuration.

2. Is a Coarse Crusher Necessary Before Fine Grinding?

Not always. If the dried tomato pieces meet the selected grinder's feeding requirements, pre-crushing may not be necessary. Oversized pieces can be processed using a coarse crusher, such as our YDCS Series.

3. Does Yinda Machinery Provide FAT and SAT?

Yes, we provide Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all equipment. Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) can also be arranged if required by the customer.

4. How to Choose the Right Tomato Powder Grinding Machine?

Our YDWS Series Pin Mill is suitable for applications within its reference range of 20–120 mesh, while our YDWF Series Air Classifier Mill offers a finer reference range of 80–320 mesh. The best choice depends on your target particle size and processing requirements.

5. Can Yinda Machinery Provide a Customized Tomato Powder Grinding Solution?

Yes, we can evaluate suitable equipment and auxiliary systems according to your material, capacity, and processing requirements. Material sample testing can also be discussed to help assess grinding performance before equipment selection.
